Save this Date:

Our association of Vineyard Churches has set the dates for our next Regional Leadership Conference in 2012.  The dates will be Monday night, June 4th through Thursday night, June 7th, 2012.  The conference will be held in New Orleans at the Kenner Vineyard.  I know it will be a great time together!  This will be our last Regional Leadership Conference for the Southwest Region as we now know it.  After 2012, our movement is expanding from 8 Regions to 16 Regions across the nation.  This conference is open to anyone in our church that would like to come, but is geared for those in our church that serve in any leadership capacity.  There will be lots of great workshops at the conference that will help develop and train us in serving the Lord with greater skill and passion.  I hope to see all of us there!

Missionaries from Spain

Join us on Feb. 26th for a special service as we are joined by Eugenio and Pia Restrepo.
Eugenio and Pia were commissioned as Covenant Long-Term Missionaries to Spain at the Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1996.  They were called in the areas of church growth, discipleship and grassroots leadership training.
Restrepos describe their years in Spain as ‘both exciting and fruitful.’  They teach leadership training and Bible courses for pastors and leaders in the areas of Christian counseling, learning styles, parenting, and Bible hermeneutics.  "Every Tuesday night the church becomes like a small seminary, and in June, 12 new believers were baptized!  Seeing people come to Christ and being a witness to their transformation through God’s Word, is a gift we treasure in our hearts...”
The Restrepos have 2 grown children, and are members of First Covenant in Oakland, California.

Youth Summer 2012 Mission Trip:

Going on a group trip is a great way to build unity and vision among your youth group, to see a radical change in their lives, and to see them making an impact in their church, families, and even the whole community! Your students will also gain excellent training and experience in sharing the gospel through communicating in dramas, through dance and using vacation Bible School. It’s easy for teens to get too busy over the summer, but this is a great way for them to keep diligent in their pursuit of the Lord, grow stronger as a whole, and to practically put their faith into action! Start praying about whether your teen should be a part of this summer’s mission trip!  For more information…keep praying.

Mission Opportunity to Nepal:

Karina Barger, one of our college age students will be going on a mission trip to Nepal this coming summer and would appreciate your prayers and support.  Her team will be visiting rehabilitation centers for girls who were rescued from the sex slave industry.  They will also be performing evangelistic dramas on the streets and praying for the sick.  Her trip  will be from June 8-July 7th.  She has to raise $3,126 for the trip.
If you have interest to pray or contribute to her missionary funds, please do.  All donations should be made to Vineyard Church of San Antonio.  Please make sure to insert a note with the check that it is to go toward missions for Karina Barger.  Any donations toward her trip will be tax exempt.

40 DAY ALL CHURCH FAST

For the last few years our church has participated in a 40 day fast, usually done at the beginning of the year.  This year we felt the Lord guiding us participate in a 40 day fast during our next series, The Good And Beautiful God.  The fast will be from April 16-May 26th.  Be prayerfully preparing yourself for this fast.  Ask yourself, what can I stop doing in order to make more time to connect with the Lord in prayer, scripture reading, and just being with him during our all church fast?  Watching movies?  Video playing?  Leisure reading?  Less time sleeping?  Listening to music while driving?  Skate board time?  Facebook time?  Our prayer during the fast  is that each of us will fall in love with the God Jesus knew.

The Love Banquet:

On February 23rd, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at UTSA is putting on an evangelistic outreach called, "The Love Banquet."  The students will survey the campus asking people their opinion on love topics ranging from "What is the best love story youve ever witnessed in life?" to "What do you think about God's love?"  Then the respondent will be invited to The Love Banquet in hopes of winning the best love story contest.  At the Banquet the fun planned for the evening will transition into a talk about the greatest love story of all, Jesus Christ!  Sosina Haile, a member of our church will be sharing the gospel at this event.  UTSA aspires to feed 50 people and lead 5 people to Jesus.  IVCF is needing our support to help pay for food.  Please partner in sharing the gospel in this way.  If you are interested in supporting this effort contact Sosina Haile at rgj761@my.utsa.edu

Daily Bread Ministries:

Daily Bread Ministries, a ministry we have supported as a church, is in a critical situation.  The city of San Antonio has purchased the warehouse they have rented for $2,450 a month for the last 12 years.  In a few months they will be homeless and unable to continue the work for the hungry of San Antonio.  They are having a silent auction in which to raise funds toward locating and securing another property to continue collecting and distributing food for the hungry of San Antonio.
If you own a business or provide a marketable service, would you prayerfully consider donating your services or merchandise toward supporting Daily Bread Ministries?  What do you have that could be sold at the auction?   Merchandize?  Artwork?  Art Classes?  Counseling Sessions?  For more information contact Camille Collie before March, at camillecollie@sbcglobal.net

Under Construction:

We have been remodeling the three bathrooms at church and would like to paint them before we install the urinals, stalls, countertops, etc.  Are you available to help?  Saturday, Feb. 25th, from 9 – 3PM we will need your help.  If we can have 4 – 6 volunteers per bathroom we should be able to complete that project.  It will be a whole lot easier to paint without having to work around stalls, countertops, etc.  Please sign up if you are able to help.
